This was a short and sweet high school romance with a little drama put in the mix. If u want short and nice this book is for u.
He is the captain of the football team and she is in the band. This story is typical young romance. Very clean and more for the young adult reader. Coming of age issues and teen drama. Fast read.
The beginning was far better than the latter end of the book. Towards the end it became the same repetitive dialogue so I took points off. Plus the book was only 11 chapters long for $4 on kindle. Way too much for a short book with same wording repeated.
It seems in every sense of the word too perfectly set up. I noticed what was happening in the story too much. The things that happened to the main characters were not very realistic of high school students. I didn't enjoy the reading experience. I found that I mostly wanted the story to end. It was very soap opera ish.
Florida State University, the one with the famous football team that would send scouts, is located in Tallahassee not Jacksonville. UNF is the university in Jacksonville. Also, FSU does not have a fire science program. Florida State College in Jacksonville does have a fire science degree, but does not have a football team. It is basically a technical college and does not have a Psychology program. This sort of ruined the story for me not getting the facts correct.
I also wished the author had done more research on blindness and all the educational programs available to assist. It is ridiculous that the h believed that her blindness would make her dependent on others and not be able to go to college. There are so many adaptive technologies available now. Overall for the price I was extremely disappointed.
This was a pretty cute read. My only problem with this book was that Hadley and Tyler fell in love way too quick.
Hadley is what you would call a band geek. She's studious, she follows the rules, and she loves her friends and family. She's had a crush on Tyler for years but knew they were on different levels. She has an ex-boyfriend that has pretty much turned into a stalker. She doesn't understand why he won't leave her alone since they didn't have a good relationship and he cheated on her constantly. She wants to become a music teacher and help other students.
Tyler is the captain and quarterback of the football team. He's gorgeous and extremely popular. He's been all about hooking up with different girls and having sex with them and easy. There's one girl that he has been with on and off for years, Alicia, and she's pretty crazy. She is jealous and thinks they are meant to be together. He's had his eye on Hadley for years but he knew she was a forever girl and not just one you try to hook up with. He's ready to change his life and ways and finally start a relationship with Hadley.
I wish every book I tried from a new author was as good as this one was.
The characters were believable, relatable, and fun to read. The story line could have easily been cliché. But the author painted a story full of surprise and kept my interest right till the final page. I was a little sad it was over to be honest.
